The quantity was up by 21.35 percent while the value rose 19.1 percent over the previous year! In the face of continued uncertainties in the global seafood trade, India has been able to cling-on to its position as a leading supplier of seafood in both international & domestic markets. Striking a new high while riding on a robust demand in global market, India’s seafood export at 13,77,244 tonnes earned Rs.45,106 crore in 2017-18. With a string of initiatives and policy support, India intends to achieve an export target of $10 billion by 2022. Contributing to this growth, 2011 established Ratnagiri-based Jeelani Marine Products has earned recognition of being a leading firm in India’s seafood industry. Exporting and supplying seafood across Asia, Middle East and various other countries, its uncompromising quality and high standards of business have made exceptional reputation with esteemed clients across the world.
Jeelani procures the products directly from the farmers & fishermen, hence avoiding the unethical practices
Vast Network & Strong Connections
The firm is a brain child of visionary S.H. Aboobaker (Managing Director), who holds a vast experience of over three decades in seafood trading industry. His aspirations and shove to supply fresh fish to seafood lovers across the globe paved way for seafood exports, while making Jeelani the most sought after seafood & aquaculture exporter in the country. The wide range of sea-caught and aquaculture products offered by the firm includes various types of fishes, crustaceans, cephalopods and mollusks, which are procured from harbors in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Under its aquaculture segment, Jeelani produces around 1500 MT capacity of shrimp per year. The firm holds a strong link with fishermen, farmers, self-help groups, and different farming groups to maintain its efficient yet economical operations. Jeelani procures the products directly from the farmers & fishermen, hence avoiding the unethical practices like open auction, adulteration and soaking of the products. This is a differential factor that sets the firm apart from its peer competitors.
Dedicated to Stringent Quality
Upholding the norms and regulations, Jeelani practices strict hygiene policies while adhering all the requisite certifications from ISO, BRC, HACCP, FSSAI, HALAL, and USFDA. The company delivers products that are packed hygienically, and uses state-of-the-art processing factory for cleaning & cutting of fishes as per the demand and requirement of the customer & export houses. Alongside, to maintain the quality of the products, the firm has its well-equipped setup of temperature-controlled (-20°C to -18°C) warehouse that stores around 1500 MT of fishes. The firm has two modern state-of-the-art Ice plants at its disposal with a combined capacity to produce 300 MT of Block Ice per day. The said Ice is then supplied by the firm to the fishing boats, which have an agreement to supply the catch to the firm. For Fast Freezing of the material the firm has Ultra-Modern freezing facilities in the form of Blast Freezers and Plate Freezers with a total approved capacity of 110 MT/day. Apart from that, the firm is powered with 35 insulated & refrigerated vehicles that ensure the freshness of perishable products during its transportation to the end users. The vehicles have a carrying capacity of six tons per vehicle with preservation capacity of up to six days. Another factor that differentiates Jeelani from its competitors is its data logger’s technology that measures and logs the temperature of the products. This helps both end users and the importers to track the quality of the perishable products during its journey.
Witnessing a substantial growth for the last eight years, Jeelani is well focused to increase its services and expand in the domestic and international markets. “We have a handsome track record of delivering all domestic and export orders on time. We will continue our consistent supply of products that has led to customers delight globally,” concludes Aboobaker.
